What Computer Stuff You Need

Before downloading Chessology, just make sure that your computer is capable of running the software.

If your computer does not meet these minimum requrements, you may not be able to install or run the software.

Operating System:

Chessology requires a Microsoft Windows operating system, which can be any one of the following versions:

Windows 7

Windows Vista

Windows XP

Windows 2000

Unfortunately, Chessology does not run on older versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems, such as Windows 98, Window 95, Windows 3.1 or earlier.

CPU:

Chessology works best if you have a fast computer; however, it should be fine if you have something like an Intel Pentium III CPU @ 500 MHz.

If your computer specification is less that this, the program will still work but may appear sluggish.

Hard-disk:

You need about 1 MB of spare capacity on your hard-disk drive in order to install Chessology.

This is a very small program so that should not be a problem!

Memory:

Chessology works best if your computer has at least 128 MB of RAM memory.

Again, if your computer specification is less that this, the program will still work but may appear sluggish.

Monitor:

You will need a color monitor as Chessology makes heavy use of color and does not work well in black and white.

Mouse:

You will need a mouse or similar pointing device.

Chessology makes use of the mouse in a way that would be difficult using a keyboard alone.

When you click on the above link, a dialog box similar to the following will appear:

This is simply asking you if you wish to run or save the installation file that will be downloaded...

If you click run

Click the Run button if you want to install the software immediately on this computer. Most people choose this option as it is easier.

Depending on the security settings of your computer, you may also need to click Run on a second dialog box which asks you again if you are still sure that you want to run this software.

Anyway, click Run if you want to start installing the software.

If you are not experienced in installing software, just proceed to the next section, install, which consists of a step-by-step walkthrough on the complete installation process.

If you click save

Click the Save button if you want to install the software later, or on a different computer.

You will be presented with a Save as... dialog box allowing you to select the location on your computer where you wish to save the Chessology installation program.

Then, when you want to install the software, go to the next section, install if you need a step-by-step walkthrough on the complete installation process.
