Objective of the Tutorial

When you have finished this tutorial, you will understand how chess works.

You will be able to set up the board to start a new game and you will know how to move and capture using each of the six different types of chess pieces.

You will be familiar with all the special moves, such as castling, en-passant and pawn promotion.

You will know how a game is won by checkmate, and you will be familiar with the different situations which lead to a drawn game, such as stalemate and the three-repetition rule.

You will be able to play a complete game of chess against your friends or against the computer, and with a bit of luck, you may even be able to win a game or two!
