It is true that chess is a complex game but you can play it once you know the basic rules and moves that can be made by each piece, which can be learnt in a very short period of time. It only takes a long time to become very skilful at the game as there are many strategies and techniques to learn. In any case, as long as you stick to playing against people of your own skill level, then hopefully you will win some games, and all the while you will be learning and improving as you go along.

So what is chess like?

Chess is a game of pure skill in which you use strategy and tactics to outwit your opponent.

It is played by two persons using a chessboard and chess pieces. The players take it in turns to move their chess pieces around the chessboard, trying to outwit and outsmart their opponent, capture their opponent's pieces, and ultimately checkmate theie opponent's king.
